Request For New Journal Subscription

Periodicals subscriptions are reviewed periodically at the beginning of the Spring semester. Faculty members serving on the Library-Media-Technology Committee are asked to consult with their programs for any new addition or cancellation to our periodicals subscriptions.

The proposed new journal requests and/or cancellations will be forwarded to the Serials Librarian. For cancellation, the Serials Librarian will check the usage statistics for that journal title for the past 3 years. If the statistics show consistent high usage, the journal will not be cancelled.

PURPOSE:

The Library's main function is to provide resources/information to the students, faculty and staff of the College for their research and teaching needs.

Faculty members recommend new periodical titles to be added to the Library's periodical collection. The Library Director has the final authority to determine the addition or cancellation of a journal title.

When budget allocation is available, and the basic selection guidelines/ procedures are followed, the Library will add a new journal that is of research value to our periodicals collection.
