The
faculty proposes cancellation of a journal from his/her program
to the Divisional Library Representative. |

The
Divisional Library Representative reviews and submits the cancellation
request to the Library by the end of the Spring Semester, or before
May 15. |
c. |
The
Periodicals Librarian checks the usage statistics for the journal
for the past 3 years, and provides the information and recommendation
to the Library Director. |
d. |
The
Library Director reviews the proposed cancellation request(s), and
makes the final
decision. |
e. |
The
Periodicals Librarian prepares and submits the subscription(s)/
renewals, including the
cancellations, to subscription service agencies by September 15. |
f. |
The
Library Director notifies and provides the Library Committee members
with a list of new
periodical titles that are added or cancelled. All new additions/cancellations
will be
effective the following calendar year. |
g. |
The
Periodicals Librarian cancels and removes purchase orders for the
cancelled titles for
the following year on the DRA Acquisition subsystem. |
h. |
When
the invoices arrive, the Periodicals Librarian verifies changes
and all titles on the
invoice before payment is authorized. |
i. |
The
Periodicals Librarian changes the information on the check-in record
in the Serials
Subsystem from "current" to "not Current". |
j. |
The
Periodicals Librarian then forwards the information to the Library
Technician to
update the New Jersey Union List of Serials on OCLC. |
k. |
She
also updates the information on the Periodicals Holdings List. |
l. |
The
Periodicals staff will remove the cancelled journal and label from
the display and re-
shelve it in the regular shelves. |
