Stockton College Emergency Medical Services also known as S.A.F.E.R. (Student Association of First-Aid Emergency Responders) is a student run organization that provides emergency medical care to the students, faculty, and guests of the Richard Stockton College of NJ.
We are a 100% student group and operate as a branch of Stockton Police Department. The squad is overseen by a police department appointed program Director, Assistant Director, and advisory staff, while day-to-day operations are handled by the Captain, his/her Lieutenant and 2 Sergeants.
We are a volunteer squad and do not charge for medical care. Made up of around 30 student members almost half of which are NJ Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Most of these EMTs are also firefighters or run on ambulance squads back in their hometowns, so the care received by Stockton EMS EMTs is the same as you would expect if you dialed 911 at home. Stockton EMTs are partnered with CPR certified non-EMT members who staff college sporting events, events with large gatherings, and events that have a high chance of injuries. We are also first respond to medical emergencies on campus and stabilize the patient until a transport ambulance arrives.
Stockton EMS is proud to announce we are now a member or the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation and now have access to the wide variety of expert knowledge and guidance this agency provides along with the prestige of being recognized as a member.

Lt. Steve Burrows, Capt. Ian Kane, PIO Steve Heerema, and Sgt.Charles Pivnichny staff the Stockton EMS info table at the 2012 Community Market Place
