Debra A. Dagavarian
Assistant Provost

Deb Dagavarian, who holds a Doctorate in Education from Rutgers University, is responsible for the student-related aspects of Academic Affairs, including appeals of academic policy, commencement, and academic honesty and grade appeals.  She serves as editor of the College Bulletin and academic pages of the College’s Web site; reviews academic policies that apply to students; serves on the goStockton core portal team; and holds responsibility for distance education.  She also serves as Stockton's Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

In a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Dagavarian's earlier positions include Deputy Vice Provost of Thomas Edison State College and founding director of the National Institute on the Assessment of Experiential Learning. She also has been Assistant Dean for Assessment at Empire State College, and Director of Academic Advising and Director of Evening Programs at Mercy College. A longtime consultant to colleges and other organizations, Dr. Dagavarian taught and developed Sociology and Psychology courses, part time, for over 15 years.  At Stockton, she developed and taught an online, graduate course on the Armenian genocide, and an undergraduate course on the literature and history of baseball.

She has published two books on baseball and over 20 articles on subjects ranging from learning assessment to accreditation to baseball. Inexplicably and undeniably, she roots for both the Yankees and the Mets, and is a fan of the 1912 New York Giants of the National League.  She is married and has a son.
